A local line dancing club in Worcester, Route 38, recently donated a whopping £2,500 to YSS  Worcestershire Young Carers, following a day of dancing!

The generous group danced their way to fundraising success by holding a line dancing day in June, at the Guilt Edge Club in Kidderminster.

Sarah Goodyear was one of the members of the club to recently visit YSS (Your Support Service) head office in Worcester, to deliver the cheque in person.

Jon Cawdron, Worcestershire Young Carers Senior Project Coordinator, said: “We are extremely grateful to Sarah and everyone involved in raising such a fantastic amount of money to support young carers in Worcestershire.

“The service currently supports more than 450 young carers in Worcestershire alone, and we know there are likely to be many more who need our help. As well as assessment and signposting, we regularly deliver clubs and trips for young carers to enjoy, like horse riding, fishing, or a day of fun at indoor water park, Waterworld. These activities are vital in giving young carers the chance to have some fun and take a break from their caring responsibilities.

“The money generously donated by Route 38 will be used to fund an exciting trip to London for young carers aged 17 and over, in early 2019. We can’t wait!”
