Trustee recruitment Become a YSS Trustee YSS brings over thirty years of knowledge and passion to enabling people to develop their resilience and feel part of the community in which they live. Our teams of dedicated staff and volunteers deliver a variety of community based services to families and individuals at risk of social isolation and exclusion. We work in partnership with Local Authorities, the Police, Fire and Probation services and other community organisations. Our operations are focused on a smaller geographical area compared to some larger national charities and therefore the impact of our decisions is more visible. We are seeking new Trustees to work with the Chair, other Board members and staff, in helping us to realise our ambitious vision and strategic objectives; driven by our new strategy and governance improvement plan. We have a deep and rich history to draw upon but our ambition to develop is stronger than ever. We strive for excellence, ensuring that equity, diversity and inclusion is at the heart of all that we do. Trustee Roles: YSS Trustees use their specific knowledge, skills and experience to help reach sound decisions and to provide advice and guidance. Previous board or committee experience is useful but first time Trustees will be considered and supported if appointed. Above all, we are looking for Trustees who are passionate about our aims and who will work with Board colleagues and the Leadership team to deliver agreed goals. We are particularly interested in individuals who bring skills and specialisms relevant to our work and organisation. Vice Chair/Chair Designate Role: Our current Chair is due to retire in the Autumn of 2022 and as part of this recruitment campaign, we are also seeking to recruit a Vice Chair, who will be Chair Designate until the Chair retires. If you are looking to make a difference to the lives of others by ensuring that we continue to be a sustainable key provider of services, we would like to hear from you!
