YSS (Your Support Service) is pleased to announce that David Chantler has recently become the new Chair of Trustees for the charity.

Lady Susanna McFarlane has been Chair of Trustees for more than 11 years, first taking on the role in 2007, having been a Trustee since 2004. Prior to that she was a YSS Appropriate Adult volunteer. Although Lady Susanna is stepping down as Chair, she will remain involved with YSS as a Trustee.

David recently began his new role as Chair after becoming a YSS Trustee in 2015 following early retirement from the probation service. He was the longest serving Chief Probation Officer in the country, and had been Chief in West Mercia from its formation in 2001 until its closure in 2014. David was also awarded an OBE in 2014 for services to probation, and in particular its partnership working.

Lorraine Preece, YSS Chief Executive, said: “Whilst we are sad to see Susanna step down as Chair, we recognise the enormous contribution she has made during her role and we are delighted she will continue her involvement with YSS as a Trustee. We recognise the importance and value that change can bring, and so we are thrilled to welcome our Trustee, David Chantler, into his new role as Chair. We are very much looking forward to the future and all that lies ahead.”
